REDLINE GAMES
A huge round of applause for Sile Crowe and Mandy Meredith who were crowned Australian champions in the inaugural Super Sprint championships at the Redline Games in Penrith last weekend. Congrats too to Rod Rose who won silver and Ozzy Rose (yep, he is a relation) who won silver in the 16-19 age group despite mechanical issues on the bike. Welcome to the club Ozzy!
On Sunday, JB’s sole representative was Rob Richards who backed up after racing the Classic at Batemans Bay to win his age group and place 10th overall in the Ultimate. Kudos Robbo, that is quite a feat.

APRIL GROUP TRAINING
As many of you are aware, group training at Iluka usually happens on the 3rd Sunday of the month. However after talks with Booderee, we have moved the April training session for this month only to April 30 to avoid the holiday traffic and ensure a safer event for everyone.
The session will include triathlon training for both adults and juniors with longer and shorter options available. If conditions are unfavourable, we will offer a duathlon option (run/ride/run) but we are planning for good weather and a chance to swim while the weather and water are still good.
Please consider volunteering if you won’t be participating, or asking a family member to help out, as we need marshals to ensure these sessions can go ahead.
WHAT: Group tri training. Long and shorter course options or mix your own.
WHEN: Sunday April 30. 7:45 for seniors, juniors training after seniors at around 9:15. Please be aware that there may be athletes on the road as you enter or leave Iluka.
WHERE: Iluka car park in Booderee National Park.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
A call-out for members to register for Club Champs in Forster on May 27. As well as offering double points in the Interclub Series, it would be great to have a serious crack at winning our division at Club Champs itself. The strategy is simple: we need as many members racing as possible as everyone earns points and anyone who makes the top 30 in their age group gets additional points.
For those who haven’t done Club Champs before it’s a brilliant weekend and a chance to race with your mates and fly your club colours at the tail end of the tri season. So talk to your partner, talk to your training buddies, and let’s get JB up there with a chance to win.
A reminder too that registrations are still open for Wollongong with Interclub points on offer in the Sprint and the Standard. Don’t forget to claim your JB Tri Club discount (thanks Elite Energy!!!) before registering.
