Bored with COVID and the havoc it’s playing with your racing plans? While events that bring people from different regions together are currently not allowed, community sport is NOT affected. This means our Group Training session for September 20 (that’s Sunday week) is a great opportunity to brush up on those triathlon skills.
The call will be made closer to the date as to whether this will be a triathlon, duathlon, or combination of both, but why not get out to Iluka and give it a go.
- When: September 20. 8am start.
- Where: Iluka Beach in Booderee National Park.
- Cost: No cost to club members.
- Options: Short and long course or mix and match your own training session.
A reminder that if you are planning to attend, you need to register online and comply with the Club’s COVID guidelines. Just click on the link below. All participants are also required to have a current Park entry permit. There is currently no fee for this permit. Just click on the pass link below or on the registration page.
MARSHALS
For this event to proceed, Booderee requires us to have a minimum number of volunteers/marshals. We need people to act as traffic marshals and to do jobs such as time-keeping and transition management. It’s not hard and can be fun watching the action. If you or a family member can help out, let us know using the link below.
INTERCLUB SERIES
With many races still uncertain, we are still waiting for details on how this year’s Interclub series will work. But we’re hoping Little Husky on the weekend of Oct 31/Nov 1 will be our chance to kick off our campaign to retain our position as South Coast champions. We need at least 13 starters for maximum participation points with performance points likely to be awarded over the Sprint distance. Elite Energy has also been encouraging people to enter so it can gauge the viability of upcoming races. It is offering a full refund (minus a 7.5 per cent admin fee) for any races that need to be cancelled. So let’s work on a return to racing that weekend and a great season for JB members.
